Best Travel Time & Climate
Kenya is located close to the equator
and has an all year round perfect climate for your next journey to Africa.
Basically, the climate in Kenya can be described as warm and divided into two areas: The coastal climate and the highland climate:
The coastal region is considered slightly warmer than the climate in the interior. The highest temperatures here are around 28 degrees in July/August and up to 32 degrees in December to February.
In the highlands, the highest temperatures are up to 26 degrees. The reason for this difference in temperature is the difference in altitude between the coast and the highlands.
There are two periods of increased rainfall in the highlands. From the end of March to May and from the end of October to mid-December, you may be surprised by short but heavy showers in the afternoon, evening or even at night. In the coastal region, the main rainfall period is in April/May and significantly less in October/November.
This means that the best time to visit is from December to March & June to September.
