Today we continue through the neighbouring wine regions of Wellington near Paarl and head for the Cedar Mountains in the distance and the Klein Karoo. Your destination is AfriCamp Doolhof, a fantastic glamping accommodation with magnificent mountain views. Today is free for you. The AfriCamp offers many activities especially for children. Go on a hiking or mountain bike tour (incl. Kids Biking Trail), do a wine tasting at the Doolhof Wine Estate or enjoy a cheese and wine tasting at the Fairview Winery with its own cheese dairy. The Spice Route is also an ideal destination with kids, offering chocolate tasting and, if the weather is good, great views all the way to Table Mountain in the distance.

Your journey continues towards the Garden Route almost to Mossel Bay, to the Gondwana Game Reserve. Gondwana is a private safari reserve and is heavily involved in Wildlife & Nature Conservation. In the afternoon, you will meet your personal ranger at high tea, with whom you will embark on your first safari game drive a little later and enjoy the sunset in spectacular scenery. 

Please note: Children from 6 years are allowed on the regular safaris, for younger children we can add the Junior Ranger Programme and a private safari vehicle (exclusive use without other guests, extra charge: 200€ per night). Alternatively, I am happy to offer you the safari experience at Garden Route Game Lodge at no extra cost, which is primarily designed for young children and families.

Early in the morning you will go on your next game drive with your ranger in an open safari jeep. After the morning safari, you can spend the day relaxing in the incredible scenery of your safari lodge before setting off on another safari and search for the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) in the afternoon.

Today we continue to Hermanus, the best place for whale watching in Africa. Upon arrival, you can explore the tranquil town centre with its cafés and restaurants. My recommendation is a walk along the Cliff Path along the coastline with views of the sea and, with a bit of luck, some whales. 
Whale season is from July-November, but the charming little town of Hermanus is always worth a stop in the off-season.
