From the Desert to Delta

At sunrise you go on a tour to Sossusvlei, climb the gigantic dunes and enjoy the view of Dead Vlei on your way down - Namibia's No. 1 postcard motif. You go on the tour on your own or optionally with a guide from your accommodation. In the afternoon you have the opportunity to hike the Sesriem Canyon and end the day in the desert or at the pool of your accommodation.

You leave your lodge in the desert and drive via Solitaire and Walvis Bay to the coast of Swakopmund. Explore the small coastal town of Swakopmund, which seems to have stood still in time, and enjoy one of the seafood restaurants by the sea in the evening.

In the morning you go on a boat trip on the Atlantic Ocean to seals, dolphins and pelicans and taste Namibian oysters on board. In the afternoon, you can choose between other activities such as a quad biking tour in the foothills of the desert that reach as far as Swakopmund or a tour in Sandwich Harbour, the transition of the Namib Desert into the Atlantic Ocean, to look for the Little Five.

You drive inland towards the Brandberg Mountains and Spitzkoppe. The breathtaking scenery invites afternoon hikes. You can go on an archaeological tour to historic San Rock Paintings, caves, Zebra Pool and the Rock Arch. Some hikes and activities are free of charge, others can be booked and paid for on site.

You drive from Spitzkoppe into the reddish, rugged stone desert of Damaraland. On the way you have the opportunity to visit the World Heritage Site of Twyfelfontein, the Petrified Forest and the Organ Pipes. Afterwards, your destination is Vingerklip Lodge. After arriving at your lodge, enjoy the rest of the day in the magical setting of the sunset at Vingerklip Rock.

Coming from Damaraland you head north from Khorixas and reach the southern foothills of the eternal Kaokoveld. Your destination today is Palmwag. It is an ideal place to sit around the campfire in your lodge and fall asleep in the tranquillity of nature. Depending on your arrival time, you can go on one of your lodge's activities in the afternoon, for example searching for desert elephants.

You drive through the northern foothills of the Damaraland and the southern foothills of the Kaokoveld, which stretches further north towards Angola. It is a sandy and rugged endless expanse. Today you go on a game drive with a ranger in an open safari vehicle. Your destination is of course the gigantic Etosha Pan, the salt pan in the centre of the national park, where zebras and giraffes, elephants and rhinos, lions and the endless variety of African wildlife can be found. Spend the evening in the comfort of your lodge.

n the morning you will continue your journey, now with your own car, through Etosha National Park. From the main route you will once again be able to observe a variety of animals at close range. Your destination is the eastern exit of Etosha, where your next lodge is situated.

From Etosha National Park you will drive towards the Caprivi Strip in the north-eastern tip of Namibia. Your first destination is Rundu in the heart of the Kavango Region and the gateway to the Caprivi.
From here, the road takes you along the famous Okavango River and to your lodge directly on the river. Listen to the sound of the river in the evening.
